I think I finally have everything the way I like it since moving to the newer version of the software that runs this journal. In the old version of the software, things like the calendar to the right were added automatically and were part of the "skin" that determined the visual look of the site. In the new version of the software, all the little features and tools (widgets) that display information or allow for navigation have to be manually added to a page. To compound the situation, some widgets require other widgets to be loaded for things to work. If you don't know that a widget has a dependency that needs to be loaded to function (like I didn't), it makes trouble shooting difficult. Nevertheless, I think I have everything working now. I'm still fairly certain that I'll be integrating all the various pieces of my site together using WordPress, but for now everything is working like it should.
One of the new features I have thanks to the new software update is the ability to tag posts with keywords. If you look the the right, you'll see a tag cloud. A tag cloud displays the most often used keyword tags. The larger the tag appears in the cloud, the more often it is used. You can click on tags to find posts in my journal with similar content. I don't have all my old posts tagged yet. It's still a work in progress.
